two xbox ones same internet. Connection issues

We have multiple xbox ones using the same internet connection. My son and I both purchased a copy of the latest COD. We both have our own Live accounts too. For some reason we cannot both play at the same time or play together. Whoever signs in second gets
a message that we cannot access online services. In the past we have randomly got it to work but mostly not. Any ideas?

We used to have a family live account but no longer. Not sure if that matters.

Just happens on COD and only the last two installments. We used to share a live connection under a family plan but ended up getting our own accounts years ago. Ill check to make sure we are on diff activision accounts. Thanks

same that has been said, using the same cod account will do this, if it is just happening in cod. as you both have copies and you both would need seperate cod accounts too.

if not then it may be something to do with your router.

as you only have 2 Xboxes you should set your son's Xbox as your Home Xbox and he should set your Xbox as his Home.

this way you only need to buy things once and can share them including Live Gold.

games from Gamepass have to be downloaded/installed by the account that has the subscription, but after that they can be played by anyone signing in on that Xbox

Is it possible that you're both using the same Activision account? Does this same issue occur on other games too, or purely on Modern Warfare?

If only one xb1 is being used the online performance is fine
