    Any advice is appreciated.

    Can I just pay one monthly fee? If so can they still play with each other?

    I'm guessing when we first got the consul two years ago I should have set up 3 accounts one for parent so I can control and one each for them.

    Just enter an account with gold in the other console without gold and put it as the main one, so both can enjoy the privileges granted by the subscription.

    Hello fellow gamer. No you do not need two gold passes you make one Xbox the home and anyone that logs in there will be able to access. Happy gaming everyone

    That is the best feature Microsoft came out with for Xbox making one Xbox the main one with the main account, while the other Xbox can use the benefits of gold or gamepass.

    Just enter an account with gold in the other console without gold and put it as the main one, so both can enjoy the privileges granted by the subscription.
    This is your best option and cheapest. Game and gold sharing within the family members/household is a great way to save money
