two different tags and systems, one one live account

So I have two kids, one with an xbox360 and one with an xbox one. We have one live account. Can they use two different gamer tags and be on the systems at the same time using the one live account or do they need separate xbox live
accounts?

Xbox live accound management between two countries

Hi,

I'm a French user and I often travel to UK where I also have a Xbox system.

Can I manage one Live account,a French one, on both systems on those two locations ?

Does it affect my systems, accounts or games ?

If you add gold to the account that is using the 360 and have that account sign into the One and set it as their Home console, the other account would be able to access the gold on the One while the first account plays on the 360.

Hi there - you should only be able to have one LIVE account per address. The system shouldn't allow two on the same Windows LIVE ID. If for some reason you do have an issue where two accounts were made with the same Windows LIVE ID, you will need to change
the Windows LIVE ID of one to a different one.

Games for Windows Live, XBL and Zune all share the same type of Gamer Tag system. So if the tag you want isn't being used on XBL, it is possible it is being used on one of the other two services.

If you are trying to use the same gamertag on two different systems at the same time, well you can not do that. You can use your gamertag on one system at a time by either recovering that gamertag to that system or simply using a flash usb drive to travel
between two different systems. However there is the Xbox Live Gold Family Pack that will allow you to have more than one gold gamertag, but at least one has to be the primary account and you get 3 additional secondary accounts to create that can be used on
other consoles, but you will need to create them all on the primary accounts console and recover the secondary to another console.

Whereas it is a bummer that the family plan is now gone, it is what it is. You will only need two Live accounts for your set up.

Xbox One = One Live account = anyone who uses this system will have Live through the person associated with the console.

Xbox360 = One Live account = the same account tied to the One.

Xbox360 = Second Live account = anyone who uses this system will have Live through the person associated with the console.

Xbox360 = Second Live account = The person with the second account uses this system.

OOORRRR... Have all systems tied to the same person. Instead of different people. Anyone who uses the system connected to a Live account has Live through them. Whether that person is signed in or not.

Example:

I have Live. I have an Xbox in my bedroom. Anyone who goes into my room and uses my Xbox will have access to Live whether I am signed in or not.
