Twitch keep crashing.

Because this is an ISP issue it's taking time to identify them, get in contact, get network traces, etc. Both MS and Twitch are actively investigating but there's no ETA for a fix right now. I'll bump the thread if I get any more information.

 

Seems odd that it's an ISP issue considering twitch works properly on literally every other device and app. Even the broadcast previews that show up next to the games in the xb1 store work properly until you click on them and it tries to open the app. The
360 app works fine also. The issue is isolated to just the xbox one app. It used to work but for me this seems to have started after the last update to the Twitch app.

 

Well I'm from Canada and for the last week I keep getting a crash of the app when I try to view a broadcast. I can use twitch just fine on my PC and on my iPhone. It would be nice to have some details on this and how and ISP issue would specifically affects
Xbox One owners.

 

Twitch is trying to narrow things down so they can get a fix out. If you have other devices on the same network (PC, 360, mobile, etc.) that can stream Twitch please respond. Thanks again for your patience; they're moving as fast as they can.

 

Its a joke its unbeliveble you dont care about canada,if the bug is in the usa i m sure twitch give a fix one hour after the bug is find

 

I am in canada and having the same problem as you guys. It was fine in march when I got my xbone

 

In Canada. I have not issue watching twitch on my pc, just my xo.

 

Twitch works on my 360 and PC.

I've also found 3 channels that don't crash on the xbox one

twitch.tv/1337loungelive

All of these channels are ad free when watching from the PC.

When other channels crash on the xbox one, the timing of the crash seems to be about the same as timing that the ad would kick in on the PC. I suspect the crashes are related to the ads coming from Twitch's Canadian servers.

 

MysticWeirdo, that's an interesting observation. If I watch my stream on my laptop I see the ad then my stream is totally offline/unavailable even though I have told the Twitch app to broadcast and it says is it. It clearly is not, there is no upload from
the application.

If there's specific tests you would like run besides just confirming other devices work in my network, I'd be happy to help out if need be. If it is an ISP issue I'm on the Rogers network (though not a Rogers subscriber, TPIA cable) so let me know either
here or via a PM on the forum if there's anything I can do to help out with this.

 

same odservation for me all the channel whos work is pub free so i think it's a add probleme till you fix it i will be a english american not a french canadian a hate that

 

hoo for all those who can't wait the fix just go to you setting/system/location and put english united state restard and bam it work

Streaming on the ipad and laptop work on the same network as the xbox since it was asked. And others have said the 360 works fine. Since the workaround is swapping regions not real sure how it could be ISP related though the stream saying offline when
it isnt might be a different story.

 

I just tried it and I think they finaly fixed it, it works for me anyway

 

Working again for me too. An ad played and then it went into the stream.
