  1. TV Volume lowers when plugging in headset on Series X.

Whenever I plug a chat headset into my Series X controller the TV volume lowers and almost sounds a bit muffled. Unplugging the headset immediately restores the original volume levels. The issue is present even when not in a party or game chat. I have tried to adjust the 'Chat Mixer' setting to 'Do Nothing' but the issue persists. If it helps, I am using an Xbox One Chat adapter to connect the headset.

    Xbox Series X headset question

    Headset is compatible.

    Nothing else answers my question.

    Does this simply not work?

Plug in headset-volume only through headset

When you unplug— the tv volume then works.

I don’t want to have to mute tv or change settings turning off hdmi volume etc.

    Xbox chat says impossible.

This not new and I find it hard to believe.

Audio on both Headset and TV Speakers

As everyone has sufficiently answered, thats just how the headsets work. I just simply turn my tv volume down when I plug in.

Audio and Video issue on games

This is on my Xbox One X. It happens on quite a bit of games and has for a while now. I just got a new HDMI cord and it still does it. The audio issue happens through the TV if I have the volume on and on my headset when plugged in. It doesn't do it when watching YouTube or any streaming services or movies. Only on games.

Turtle Beach X41 - Volume Issue

I've got this exact problem with my TB PX51 headset. I picked up the chat adapter today to get the chat working but now my volume is so loud feels like my head is going to explode. My headset is plugged into the optical port of my xbox. Seems my chat volumes
control my game volume and i'm not sure how to correct the issue. when i lower the volume to a listenable level I hear no chat. To hear chat, game volume is maxed and hurts to listen to. Anyone have any ideas.

    Quick Question

    Hey there RatedRLegend!

I can totally understand that you wouldn't want to wake up your neighbors. If you don't want to hear the TV audio, simply turn down the volume on your TV. You will still be able to hear in game audio on your headset. When the headset is plugged in, sound
from the TV is not automatically muted or adjusted.
