    TV timeshift (record) indefinitely when switching application


    If we are watching TV, and then switch to another application/game (not snap TV) the TV begins to record indefinitely from that moment, instead of the 30 minutes limit. When return to TV it countinues from that point, and if you do anything (forward/backward)
    then it takes you to the real time, within the máximum 30 minutes of timeshift.

    Where is stored all that TV record? Is it losing HDD space?

    Please fix it. And allow to increase the timeshift period.

    LIVE button for console application

    We need a LIVE button like the one in SmartGlass application on the console TV application. It is annoying to forward everytime you switch application and it pauses TV, and when return to TV application you always have to fast forward the whole timeline or
    switch TV channel twice (to another one and then back to the current one).

    Hi there Jenny welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. When recording with Xbox Game Bar, it can only record **ONE application at a time**. Example: If you are on the Discord application, start recording, then Alt+Tab to a different application, it **might** stop. So try to avoid switching applications in the middle of your recordings.

    If the recording stops at random times **WITHOUT you Alt+Tab -ing to a different application**, unfortunately, there's no clear solution.

    Game Bar can only record individual games or apps, it can't record the desktop or switching between Windows applications.

    If want to do that, they will need a third party application.

    Software such as OBS can record the desktop. It's free and safe.

    I did some of my own investigating.

    As I think about it a bit more, perhaps when the X1 is showing live TV I can use my DVR remote to select recordings without the X1 even knowing in a sense. When I am done with the recording I can then use the TV guide within the X1 to switch around on live
    TV.

    The TV won't send video data to your Xbox. So in short: No.

    There were plans back in 2013 to make the Xbox One the entertainment hub in your living room, which should seamlessly blend gaming and watching TV into one device. So if you had a Set Top Box for TV (e.g. a cable box or satellite receiver), you could plug
    that into the Xbox One's HDMI-In port and watch TV while you play. Also, a free to air digital USB receiver was made to directly get digital TV data to the console with plans to allow the console to timeshift and record TV.

    But these plans were scrapped it seems.

    So again: No, your Xbox can't record TV from your TV set.

    OneGuide in Germany (Telekom Entertain) not working?

    Hopefully this gets addressed soon for Germany to support standard cable & Satellite receivers. Also recording on an external hard disk connected to Xbox one. Or at least timeshift on the internal disk for 10mins. But recording like we had it in MCE would
    bet the CTQ to meet.
