TV controls keep popping up

Discus and support TV controls keep popping up in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; The TV control strip overlay that runs along the bottom of the screen that has the pause/play, etc. functions on it keeps popping up every few minutes...     TV controls keep popping up


    The TV control strip overlay that runs along the bottom of the screen that has the pause/play, etc. functions on it keeps popping up every few minutes as if the controller was being operated even when there are no controllers turned on. This only started
    happening last night after the update was applied. Any suggestions?

    On screen controls keep popping up.

    I had the same thing as well. At first I thought it was the Kinect doing it, but if you power off the Xbox One completely it will clear this for a while.

    G'day Patmos and dsmmrm! The only thing I can think of which would bring up those options is voice or hand gesture navigation. I know it sounds weird, but are you moving your arms around at any time while you watch TV?

    A quick step to try which may help this is to
    power cycle your console    . This is a good place to start any time it seems like the console is behaving oddly. Give it a go, and let us know the result!

    I see the same thing in my setup. THAT and seeming to have to hit PLAY when changing channels or first starting up. It's as if the builtin DVR stuff is acting up (and of course the Xbox One does not seem to understand how to access or use the DVR on my
    cable box!!)

    A thing I noticed: When setting up Kinect, test loudly... very loud (if too loud the Xbox will give you an on-screen message) with no background noise at all.
