    Good morning, I have two turtle beach ear force recon 70 head sets.

    The audio on them is great when used with the Xbox one controllers but the mic doesn't seem to work. Both headsets work perfectly fine on the Nintendo switch but not on the Xbox One controllers.

    Both controllers are brand new, I have gone through all the troubleshooting available on the console but I still can not get the microphones to work.

    HELP!!

    Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

    I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

    I am having the same problem. I've tried both a Skull Candy headset connected with XBox brand adapter AND a Turtle Beach Headset with Turtle Beach adapter. I can OCCASIONALLY get the mic to function, but after I turn the XBox off and on again, it often
    doesn't work. I can hear myself in the mic, BUT the mic icon next to my name in XBox Live pre-game lobby screen won't indicate that it is picking up any volume.

    this is my last hope. in desperate need of help.

    on xbox i just use my trusty turtle beach xo4 or xo7 pro headsets, good mic, the pro has awsome mic monitoring and thumping sound, but i do use the turtle beach adapter with sound settings, the xbox audio controls when plugged directly into the controller
    are horrid.

    I got an email from TB,

    "The Xbox One Update has to be applied to your Xbox One controller and console before your Turtle Beach headset will work properly. This update is supplied by Microsoft Corp., not by Turtle Beach.

    The headsets themselves do not have firmware to be updated. The update is for the Xbox One Controller and Adapter to allow chat and/or game audio to be sent from the controller.

    Your headset may get some sound from the Xbox One controller, even before you apply the update. However, the sound may be distorted or not work at all. To get the best experience from your Turtle Beach headset, you'll need to update the controller before
    using your Turtle Beach headset."

    The same thing happened to me with some turtle beach headset. I didn't know why that happened so I assumed that it was the mic and bought new headsets, overall I don't know what might causing this.
    me too. i even bought turtle beach headsets for Xbox one. it still didn't work as well. I don't know if its the controller or the console creating this issue.
