    Turn OFF Subscription


    About 8 years ago we made the mistake of purchasing a Xbox Gold membership for our daughter so that she could play Mine Craft. Our email addresses have changed since then, and I don't remember her username from back then. I have tried for the last 2 years
    to CANCEL the subscription and payments, but whenever I try, their contact buy phone option is "not working". I call on the phone, and I can't reach a human to help me. I can't afford this, but I don't want to hurt my credit by having my bank cut off the payments.
    This is RIDICULOUS.

    Anybody have an idea of how to reach a human to help?

    Why do I need a backup payment?

    If you don't have a subscription right now, then it's not turned on. It's only turned on after you purchase a subscription. You would have to turn it off after purchasing the subscription.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have a question on the Ultimate subscription. When cancelling a subscription, you need to turn off the auto renew first. Once that is off, then a subscription will expire. Here is a guide to turn
    off recurring charge    . Make sure to turn the auto renew off at least a week before the expire date. Then it will expire on the date.

    When you turn off the auto renewal on a gold subscription, you are only turning it off on the gold you have at that time. If you go back a few days later or a month later and purchase a new gold subscription (because you are controlling when you make that
    purchase) then the auto renewal turns back on. You will then have to have that auto renewal turned off again. The auto renewal is not turned off forever, it's only turned off for the current gold subscription that you have. Hope that explains it a bit more.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to turn off recurring billing. You can follow the

    guide for turning it on     as we don't have one specifically for turning it off. It is the exact same steps just turning the renewal off instead of on. Under services and subscriptions will show your current subscriptions to the right you should be able to
    turn off auto renew. Here is a
    guide for how to cancel subscription    .

    Gold Membership Trial Question

    You will still have to turn off auto-renewal after you start a trial. Anytime you start a trial or subscription from Xbox, it will turn on auto-renewal even if you have turned it off before. You can find out how to turn off auto-renewal here -
