Trying too reset my password but the email on my account is deactivated

Hey there Broom. Deactivating your email won't unlink your gamertag from that email. All it does it make your gamertag now linked to an inactive email. My advice would be for your friend to get his/her email account back (do a password reset or something
to get a new password). Then you can log into your account and change the email attached to your gamertag to the email of your choice.

Firstly I would not give accounts out to people it is breaking the TOU.

if you know the email that the gamertag was changed too I would try to do a password reset under that email because most of the time the old email is still on the account for a password reset link.

to do a password reset go to "xbox.com/reset"

I had this problem its very long winded but werth the try. Email the company that owns ur email address is hotmail/google ect. Get them to re activate your account by either calling them or email. It may take a few google searches to find details. Also contact
Xbox support as they talked me through it. When your account is re activated it will automatically ask for password ect. Then you should be able to change password. Or go into my account on pc for Xbox.com and there is an option to change primary email. Create
new email with whoever you wish, add that email as primary account. Any more help needed feel free to pm me. Good luck

Contact Us page to set up a support call with an account specialist. I suggest asking to be escalated to the Advocacy Team so they can go through your options with you.
