trying to update msfs2020 latest update and getting message checking for updates with game...

We notice there are few that has encounter this issue. We recommend some troubleshooting however, if issue persists, please contact the game support for assistance.

Here are our suggestions:

• Install PC updates including Optional Update. Guide - Update Windows
  
• Restart device.
  
• Update all your Windows drivers. Guide: Update drivers manually in Windows - Microsoft Support
  
• Make sure that Xbox app is updated, and the account is linked to the app is the same with Microsoft Store.
  
• Try the troubleshooting of the game support - Basic Troubleshooting: How to troubleshoot crashing/CTDs issues – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support (zendesk.com)
  

If issue persists, contact the game support: Submit a request – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support.

No it hasn’t worked sorry for late response. Just having to disable Wi-Fi to play msfs2020…so can’t update the game or use in game market…frustrating game this

Please, first, check your time settings, and set it to automatic.

Press the Windows Key + X > Settings > Time & language > Date & time > Enable "Set Timezone Automatically" and "Set Time Automatically".



Afterward, make sure your Windows is updated:

Then, reset the Microsoft Store:

Press the Windows Key + R

Type WSReset.exe and press Enter.



Next, check for app updates on the store:

With the Microsoft Store open, click on Library > Get Updates.



After that, please, download the Gaming Services Repair tool: https://aka.ms/GamingRepairTool

Once downloaded, execute the file by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator.

Follow the prompts and check if the issue was resolved (Press "Y").



Moving on from there, reset your network settings:

Please, follow these steps:

Press Windows Key + X > Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset > Reset Now.



If this still does not work, please access this folder:

C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore

Sort out your folders by "Date modified."

Delete every folder older than the last update/today's update.

*If you have installed the packages on a different drive, look inside your custom folder (for example D:\MSFS)

you might also double check your game has the latest updates or try deleting the latest update and downloading it again.
