Trying to sign in to Xbox One having forgotten which email address was used to set up my...

Hi all who very kindly replied so quickly. From a combination of all your suggestions, I think we have cracked it! I looked on the Xbox underneath the gamertag and husband had also managed to spell our Microsoft email address incorrectly, and had actually,
without being aware what he was doing, set up a new Microsoft account, with a letter missing from our actual account! So I have been able to access that Microsoft account (because he did remember the password he used!) and choose to update the security information.
We just have to wait one month for that to update, then when the Xbox sends a security code to the email address I have now put in there, we will be able to receive it and use it. So on 8th August he will be able to play his beloved game again! Thank you

A Microsoft account is same as the Xbox account. If the email is not correct, it will also not be correct on the Microsoft account. So it would be best to go through the account recovery, all this does will allow to add another way to verify the account
since you cant verify it at the moment with the misspelled email. We understand you can get into the account but you are unable to verify it. This is why I having you do the account recovery. You can sign in, then try and add a verification, but you need to
verify again. Then when you do it puts a 30 day lock on your account. You can use it, but cant change anything or purchase anything for 30 days. Still have questions, you can request a call from support to assist you better.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

• Step 1 ----select Xbox One
  
• Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
  
• Step 3-----select show contact options
  
  Step 4 ----select request call from support
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend trying the
account recovery form. This is for instances like this.

1. Make sure name and birthdate are as close as possible.
2. Put in a couple passwords that have been used.
3. When asked if made any purchases select yes and Xbox.
4. Then it will aske for gamer tag and Console id. Console id can be found under settings>system>console infor, it will start with a FD.
