Trying to recover a really old account.

As you don't remember your account email, I can advise you fill the account recovery form, in that way you're going to submit a ticket with Microsoft account recovery team

You can try all the emails you remember or if you had a phone number attached to the account, you can use that too.
Sadly, an account cannot be recovered with the gamertag alone.

If the recovery form is rejected you can submit the form two times per day

Please note that no one here including regular Microsoft Support is capable to send password reset links for security policies

Have you tried the "customer support" option? That will have you fill out questions about the windows live id to go to that team. They will check your submissions and either issue a password reset or not.

Unfortunately, the Windows LIVE team is the only group that can reset your password.

This process has to balance protecting your ability to retrieve your own account, and protecting account owners from having their accounts stolen by people claiming to be the owner. Honestly, it's not perfect on either end of that spectrum.

If you're really the legitimate owner, hopefully something in there is able to be recovered. I, for one, still have access to my old college email account, I have financial records going back many years, and I have records of passwords for accounts I haven't
used in a long time. I'm hoping somewhere in there you have a detail that matches up with what they need for account recovery.

If using the
Lost Account Solution wizard does not help with recovering your account, and as you have described, filling out the
ACSR form does not work for you, the only other thing that you would be able to do [that does not guarantee that you will recover your account] would be to

Contact Xbox Customer Support as they would have a different set of tools that could potentially assist you with recovering your account.

I'm sorry about any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

The only thing I could find is the steps in, Reset or recover your Microsoft account where it states

"You will need a working email account that you can access so we can send you information about your request. You can
use any active email account, even one belonging to a friend or relative. Or, if you don’t have another email account that you can access, you can create a temporary outlook.com account for free by selecting
Create one at the Microsoft account sign-in page."
