Trying to reconcile using two accounts (one for XBL, and a different one for my Win10 PC)

I'm trying to untagle a mess that has been years in the making here apparently. A long time ago, I established my Xbox Live account with an @hotmail address. It still functions as such to this day. In recent times to log in to my PC (especially here with
Windows 10) I've been using an @gmail account set up as a Microsoft account.

The problem is that (obviously) I won't be able to use the play anywhere functionality in this configuration, as they are two separate accounts. I've been reading up on what options might exist to merge accounts, add them as aliases, etc. but have not gotten
anywhere and at times there seems to be conflicting information. As far as I can tell, the only real options that seem to exist would be to effectively completely get rid of my Windows account, create a new one, and start over from scratch. Given that I
have Office 365 licensing and OneDrive set up, its far more than just simply using a new Windows profile.

Is there any better way that I can achieve this? Maybe some way that I'm not seeing that I can have two accounts "live" within the Win10 Windows Store?

How to enable multiplayer settings for Sea of Thieves on PC

I have bought and installes Sea of Thieves on my Win10 PC, but at launch it gives error message abot multiplayer not being possible due to account settings.

My dad has logged on to xbox.com and changed all possible person and nettwork security setting, but still the same error.

I have two different MS-accounts, one that is used for logging on to the PC and one for Xbox that was used for buying the game. The settings we have adjusted are for the one that bought the game. Could the other account possibly interfere with the game settings?

Any other theories as to why this does not work?

Any suggestions of what to do are highly appreciated.

Windows 10 Xbox App won't allow me to download any of my videos from Xbox live.

I couldn't make a local account, it asked me to either make a Microsoft account or to use an existing one. I do use two different accounts on my computer, one for the Xbox, and one for my PC, but I have had this setup for some years.

 

if you go to the Store app, and click on the icon next to the search bar (it should create a drop down menu.) then click the first option which should be your icon again, name, and email. from there you can choose Add Account. i'm not 100% sure, because
they changed it from windows 8, but i think if you add the xbox account @hotmail, it should allow you to download your purchases with either account.

give that a try and let me know if it works or not. like i said they changed it from what i am used to, before you could change the "purchasing account" so your other windows logins didn't have to pay again for things you already bought.
