Trying to play Fallout 3 GOTY on steam

Trying to play my Fallout 3 GOTY edition on Steam. I have plenty of ram and can play lots of other high spec games with ease (Fallout 4 one of them). But every time I try to start the game it instantly crashes. I have downloaded the super old Windows Game live service, run in compatibility mode, tried anti crash mods from nexus, run it on Windows XP Service pack 3, and all sorts of other stuff but it still won't run. I am getting very annoyed and tired and just want to play the game with a few mods enabled to get a slightly better base gameplay. Could really use some help

So tried the uninstall Windows Live service and it did in fact disable it. Still won't load though, stuck on initial game start up then just crashes

Have you reinstalled the game or checked for corrupt files using Steam app?

I suggest you check the setup guide over on the Steam forums. Been some help to me.

If not, I know the Fallout 3 version sold on GoG works flawlessly.

Windows 10, and have done everything listed there yes. Still not wanting to work
