Trying to migrate mojang account

I bought minecraft way back in 2014 and I've played all the way to around 2019 but i stopped playing cause of work and all but now that im trying to get back into the game it says i have to migrate it to a Microsoft account so i try and when i look at my Mojang account profile it says i do not own the game at all so im just unable to migrate at all. what should i do to get the game back ?? note: i do not have access to the email because my father said he lost it but i still remember the details for my minecraft account and on the laucher i am logged but need to migrate. help please

As you still have the game linked to the Mojang account and not a Microsoft account, you must contact Mojang support to check the options you have available to recover the access to the account/game

Please try these steps.

If your Mojang account has been migrated to Microsoft, you do not need to purchase the game again. If you are being prompted to do so, it is either because the migration process did not complete correctly or, more likely, you are logged into a different Microsoft account than the one you used for the migration.

What to do:

1. Check which Microsoft account you are logged into:

Make sure you are using the same Microsoft account that was used to migrate your Mojang account. If you do not remember which one it is, contact Microsoft support to retrieve the email address you used for the migration.

2. Check if the migration was completed:

Access your Mojang account profile on the Mojang website and check if the migration was completed. If not, try starting the migration process again.

3. Contact Mojang Support:

If the issue persists, contact Mojang Support via the Mojang Support website, providing your purchase receipt and explaining the situation.

4. Check Microsoft accounts:

Make sure you are not using a different Microsoft account than the one you used for the migration

Originally I bought the game with a mojang account (This was back in 2016 I think)

I then changed the email for the mojang account.

then with the migration, I migrated it to my current microsoft account that is not related to any of the previous emails.

The migration was successful and I was able to play game.

I stopped playing for a while, but after trying to log in with the same microsoft account that worked previously, minecraft was not there anymore.

Since I bought it with a mojang account, there is no record of a purchase/transaction.

When you purchased the Minecraft Java originally, did you purchase it with a Mojang account or a Microsoft account? If you purchased it with a Mojang account, have you tried migrating the account to a Microsoft account yet? You can learn more about migrating your Mojang account to a Microsoft account here:

You can also try installing the Minecraft launcher through the Xbox app and installing Java from there.
