Trying to link my microsoft account in minecraft for ps5 and it’s not working.

Hello.

I’ve wanted to play minecraft on the ps5 just to get on the live event with everybody, but I can’t because the microsoft login process wouldn’t work. I’ve tried:

1.) Changing the email address attached to my psn

2.) tried to change the email address attached to the microsoft account linked to this game - didn’t work because it wouldn’t allow me.

3.) Made whole NEW psn & microsoft accounts with the same email just so i can play, didn’t work.

4.) CLEARED AN ENTIRE DATA CACHE INCLUDING MY PREVIOUS WORLDS IN HOPES I CAN LOG IN BUT IT HASNT WORKED.

I’m seriously at a loss because I wouldn’t consider myself technologically illiterate, but having the error code: drowned show up every single time without fail even though I’ve followed all the steps necessary shows the amount of boundaries both microsoft & sony have put to create “exclusivity” amongst its customer base that now when I want to do something, i feel like i have to appease both parties and they still aren’t giving me what I want, which is to PLAY MINECRAFT REALMS. Can i please have some help here????

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Minecraft. I understand that you are getting the error code "Drowned". This usually happens due to a corrupted profile. Please clear your account sign in data by doing these steps:

Open the Settings tab in Minecraft and go to your Profile

Select "Clear Account Sign In Data" and confirm, then exit the game

Relaunch Minecraft

Try to sign in again using your Microsoft account

So I'm linked into the Ps5 account? And I'm not trying link another Microsoft account to my ps4, I'm trying to get into my Microsoft account that have my Email address linked to it.

I just don't understand why minecraft Microsoft account can't be unlinked? I'll have to pay for another minecraft Microsoft account if I can't get my original email address that I've veen using.

Hi Josef, I’m having the same issue however this is the first time I’ve got minecraft on any PlayStation, I’ve tried logging in to Minecraft on PS5 and it gives me the same message, there is only my account on my PS5 yet it says my Microsoft account is already linked to another PSN account, I do not have minecraft on PS4. I attempted to use a different Microsoft account but all I got was a signing in screen for 10 minutes so gave up.

(Edit: just installed minecraft on my ps4 with the same PSN account and also says the Microsoft account is linked to a different PSN account but Nintendo switch works fine so seems to be an issue with PlayStation minecraft)

If you signed in with a new Microsoft account on your PS5, you will not be able to access your old Minecraft account that was linked to your previous Microsoft account.

To access your old Minecraft account, you will need to sign in to your PS5 with your old Microsoft account credentials. If you cannot remember your password, you can try to reset it using the Microsoft Account Recovery page.
