Trying to get to settings

If your account is a child account you can't access the setting because only an Adult account has the ability to customize a profile's privacy and online safety settings.

What Xbox 360 model do you have, and do you receive any specific error codes/messages when trying to complete the setup?

If it’s an Xbox 360 E:

Set up your Xbox 360 E console | Xbox Support

If it’s the original or S model:

Set up your original Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 S console | Xbox Support

Keep in mind that most games and apps are now limited on Xbox 360 due to the obsolete software and discontinued support and security updates. Apps like Netflix and YouTube aren’t accessible, and a lot of online servers (multiplayer/matchmaking) for games have been shut down by the developers.

Also note that the Xbox 360 Store and Marketplace will be officially retired from the end of July:

To SirAngry, I deeply apologise... It was in your post not Artemis's that you warned off a friend regarding the internet requirement... Just forgot to reference you in that post as there were quite a few points I was trying to include.

I am inclined to believe that many of the pre-ordered consoles were from ppl gambling on a shortage and hoping to resell their console on ebay for 3 times the price they paid for it.
