    Trying to determine if activity is fraud or not


    We have had several charges on multiple credit/debit cards over the last 6 or so months and I'm going to summarize and say I've talked to Microsoft support repeatedly and we have multiple safe guards in place but this still keeps happening. It is just charges
    for Xbox and my son SWEARS it's not him. I'm becoming more and more skeptical about his denial, but need to find some kind of concrete way to prove I know it was him. When I call support, they say it's him, or he's part of it, and they won't help any more
    than that.

    Every purchase made says it's from his account. Could someone else have access to be able to purchase in app points? I do not have any forms of payment listed, and permission is required to buy anything, but that permission gets turned off and new cards
    get added as forms of payment, then charged. It's maddening!

    Would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

    Hi there

    If the account states it's from there account it is from the account, A suggest a idea of having passkey set up on the console to stop it happening again to see if it's from the console or somewhere else. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/...-guest-key/create-and-manage-xbox-one-passkey But
    I would also suggest contacting your bank and asking for a text service for every payment to help you some bank/credit cards do that to help keep things up to date and stuff.

    Accidental purchase in marketplace.

    TenthStreetRed -- Microsoft's policy is no refunds and suggesting otherwise is inappropriate. This incident does not amount to fraud because there was no criminal activity performed. His account was accessed on his console, no password was circumvented,
    no lies were told... no fraud was committed.

    You're making my point for me.

    An unauthorized purchase does not qualify for a refund.

    Just because the option is there doesn't change the issue. An UA purchase is fraud and no one refunds for fraud. That's why you contact your credit card company and have them dispute the charge.
    Microsoft will refund purchases if they determine it was an unauthorized purchase. I had one many years ago and got it refunded.

    To clarify, playing the games is not fraud.

    Trying to access the account would be considered fraud.
