Trying to change email address on Minecraft account

I take it I can not transfer the Xbox profile to another Microsoft account? As a parent that set up the game when my kids were young, it should be transferable once the child comes of age.

So is it possible then to delete gamer tags /Minecraft profiles and restart completely so that they can use their current emails? Or will that screw up my Xbox account?

The Minecraft profile is attached to the Xbox profile, and this Xbox profile is attached to only one Microsoft account.

The changing alias (email) steps I shared are just if you want to create a new one for each child account and remove the existing ones.
However, Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account.

So, if you actually use your Microsoft account for other things like Office 365, Outlook, etc., It is not recommended to go through this process.

Under Add an alias, do one of the following:

Create a new Outlook.com email address and add it as an alias.

Add an existing email address as an alias.

Notes:

You can't add an email address that's associated with a work or school account as an alias.

An alias or email address can only contain letters, numbers, dot (.), underscore (_) or dash/hyphen (-). Spaces and other special characters aren't allowed.

Also to note, they have their own Microsoft accounts. I just need assistance in linking the correct Minecraft profile to the correct sign in email address.

My daughter plays Minecraft under her brother's email address.

My son plays Minecraft under my email address.

Both children want to use their own email address without losing their profiles.

I don't understand how adding an alias will work. I don't want to delete my Microsoft account. I want to change the email associated with Minecraft only.
