Trying to buy FC24 points for my son

I’m trying to buy FC24 points for my son - I’ve added ££ into his Microsoft account - then he tries to purchase the points and gets the following message “Your gift card was redeemed, but your Microsoft account balance doesn’t quite cover it. You’ll need to ask an adult in your family if you can get this. We’ll let you know when you’re good to go.” If he hits the ask a parent button - we go back to the beginning of logging into his account to add money - but the money is already in his account t - can anyone help?

To resolve this issue, you may want to check the balance in your son's Microsoft account to ensure that it is enough to cover the cost of the points. If the balance is not enough, you may need to add more funds to the account. Making sure that the funds or Microosft money is on the same currency or purchase on the same locale you are residing.

If the balance is enough, you may want to try purchasing the points again and see if the issue persists. If it does, you may want to contact Xbox live support for further assistance. They will be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and find a solution.

If not, please select the country/region it is showing and select the correct one among the lists.
Make sure to use to check the available contact times of the support.
Select the "Contact Us" button

The next window will provide you with support articles based on your request and we recommend reviewing the relevant articles before selecting the "See contact options" button.

Sorry we hadn’t responded sooner.

We had enough money in the account but we seemed to encounter a glitch…

The desktop view of the account showed the correct balance - but the app view showed a zero balance but also showed the transaction of incoming money.

We added more funds via the app and it then recognised the original balance - my son was happy as he had double the amount originally asked for!

Totally agree! Have been the whole weekend trying to install EA sports FC24 for my son. Incredible frustrating. Microsoft never again!
