    Trying to add spending money to my son's account


    For the last two days I have been trying to add spending money on my son's account like I have done many times before. I go in to my family section, select my sons name, click on spending, click on add money, select the amount and click Next. Every time
    I get a message that says "Please call Microsoft support. We are having a trouble with your payment and we want to get it worked out." I have called Microsoft Support twice and both time neither person could figure out what was going one. Both said they
    could call me the following day with a solution, except they didn't.

    Why will my payment not go through? I have changed credit cards, reentered credit card information....I am at a total loss and my son is frustrated.

    I have had this happen to me as well. The one thing that fixed it for me was I went ahead and updated all of the account information from account.microsoft.com it ended up being an email account on my sons account that needed updated. I'm not sure if this
    will work for you. It did for me. I was very frustrated my son was wanting v-bucks for his birthday and it drove me nuts till I got it to work. Hope this helps.

    Check if your reentered credit card have a valid billing address associated, sometimes this can block any purchase or money transfert.

    sorry to hear. If the advice from Mikeysoonerfan does not help, please check also the security settings of your son. Maybe if he is not allowed to buy he could also not receive credits!?

    Another way to get XBOX credits (for which you don't have to pay)
    is the
    Microsoft Rewards Program    . And once a month you can send a portion of your points to your son, which he can then Exchange!!!

    I am not how to help with you account issue, however you can easily purchase Xbox gift cards online through various retailers as well as at physical stores and add credit that way. It is not as simple as doing it right there on the in you Microsoft account
    but your son would be happy in the interim. The online retailers can email the code and you are set.
