    Troubleshooting: Controller support & Safari


    Hey, luckily I've got into the Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta and it seems very fun, but I've run into issues to really take advantage of it.

    When I tried on Safari it kept refreshing the login page. I guess it's something to do with cookies, but anyway it does not work on that.

    Tried Chrome, which launched the game, solid connection, good picture, but the controller kept spinning and mistaking inputs.

    Tried to update the controller, which it did, then applied the update a couple of times more, but got that it's already up to the latest, which according to Xbox Accessories app is 4.8.1923.0.

    The controller has been working with PC under No Man's Sky, and on Mac even on xcloud service (streaming from console). Did remove and pair it again and tried restarting and resetting a couple of times more. No dice.

    Then I wanted to try it on iOS, pinned the site, but same as before with Safari on Mac, kept refreshing the page during streaming setup.

    All that being said, it's a rock-solid experience visual wise, game library is awesome and very fulfilling, so I've had absolutely no annoyance with these issues as I understand that it's very much in beta.

    Tried it on a Macbook Pro over macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 on Wednesday before noon. I hope a solution could come quickly as it's a very futuristic experience and feel no longer the need to buy another console ever again.

    Do you have a controller? You can test if you can play your games through cloud gaming through Xbox.com/play using safari or chrome.

    Playing on iPad mini 5 on Xbox cloud gaming on fortnite and I cannot turn of touch to play with a controller instead. Please advise?

    I also tried Nintendo pro controller and it was the same. Once I launch the fortnite on cloud gaming it does not read the controller. I used Safari on my iPad mini and chrome and also edge and nothing worked. Is it true that for web gaming only Xbox controllers are compatible?

    Thanks for the update. Can be an issue with the outdated OS. But we can try some troubleshooting steps from your side and try to fix this.

    First, can you try connecting the controller via USB cable to your MacBook Air? Maybe it gets recognized in that way.

    Also, instead of Safari please try using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and test with and without cable there

    Let me know how it goes with each one
