Troubles setting up tv control with Samsung (w/ IR cable, not Kinect)

I have an Xbox One without Kinect. Don't get [Mod Removed] at me for not buying Kinect, but I did not think it was necessary for an extra $100 when I already own a PS4. I have my DirecTV Genie DVR receiver (model HR44-200) plugged in with
a High Speed HDMI into the back of the XONE, then High Speed HDMI from XONE to a Samsung UHD Smart TV. Everything works fine and dandy as far as picture goes, I can watch TV just fine. But I wish to control the STB completely from my Xbox controller. I have
an IR cable connected to the back of the xbox as said in the directions when not using Kinect. The issues I'm running into are: My TV model is not shown and auto-config does not work to mute the tv, and my STB model is not shown either. Therefore, I cannot
change the channel, use DVR features (ff/rw/pause) or anything else. I do not ned to try to set up the audio because my audio receiver is an old NAD without HDMI so it would't work anyway. Please help with whatever info you have, and please refrain from any
unrelated responses concerning my post or me if you just feel like being a
[Mod Removed]. Thank you!

Please make kinect optional, I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE

IR Blasting basically means the K2 can emit an IR signal that mimics the one your remote control uses to control your tv or cable box, so you'll be able to set up the Xbox One with K2 to control your TV or Cable box so you want have to keep switch or picking
up remotes

No, it's not a universal remote: (www.xbox.com/.../media-remote)

The remote controls TV/receiver power and volume through Kinect, or an IR extender cable (cable not included).

You need Kinect or IR Extenders.

Did you setup you cable box in the OneGuide/tv settings section? Make sure the ir sensor is exactly on the ir receiver of you cable box, if RS off even a few mm it could stop it from working. You made sure your purchased a ir blaster wire and not a ir
receiver wire? If the the model of you cable box is in the Xbox one settings when you set it up then it should work, just make sure you are directly on the ir receiver of your box.

I use a cable in the livingroom because the Kinect blaster doesn't work for some reason so I have a 3 way Ir blaster wire that works grea but as I said you need to put it directly on your ir receiver for your cable box and if you want to control your tv
you need a cable with atleast 2 ir blasters and fix them to both your tv ir and cable box ir receiver.

Do you have a Kinect or IR extension cable? Those are required to send IR to your STB.

If you do have one set up, you can go to TV & OneGuide settings -> Device control -> Cable/sat box -> Enter a remote code and enter in (in priority order):
