Trouble with sharing Xbox live with Xbox x series and Xbox one

We recently just purchased the new xbox. We have 2 xboxs tgst we are trying to share xbox live with. We made the new xbox x the home account and now we cant get live to share with the old xbox

So the old console (xbox1s) would be the home account with the xbox live account log in and the new xbox series x would have access to the live?

Whichever account had the gold subscription needs to be set as home on one of the consoles but playing on the other console (and the other account being on the one as as Home for the Gold Subbed account) for both of you to play at the same time with the

Thank you for your response. We have the home console set up with the live subscription account but it still wont let another xbox sign on. It tells me i cant have 2 accounts sogned in at the same time. But we dont.

You can only share on 1 console at a time. So if you need to share on the old console, you'd have to set that one as your Home or buy a second subscription.

you can only have one console set as home, the home xbox then shares games and live across accounts, the other will not.
