trouble with game streaming in pc app

The Xbox Console Companion app is mainly for Windows 10 and allows you to stream your Xbox One to One X consoles on Windows 10. This app does not work with the Series X/S consoles though and the Xbox app is recommended for streaming to your PC if you're running Windows 11.

If you are running Windows 11 the only way we'd ask you to try installing the app is if you were having trouble with your Xbox games just to see if that would help.

By default, the Xbox will not stream party chat to Twitch. However, if you'd like to stream your party while you play your best bet would be to stream your play by using a PC with a video card capable of connecting the console (ie. HDMI in connection) and an app such as OBS which is a free streaming app that allows you to control all aspects of your stream

Watch a stream while playing a game or stream the PC game you are playing?

If it's stream the game you are playing, no it's not possible. You can only use the Twitch app on the Xbox to stream Xbox console games.

To watch a stream on the console, it's easy, just launch the app, then log in, and find a stream you want to watch, then start a game on your PC.

Hello Isaiah sorry to hear you're having trouble with your streaming.

I believe that the issue here is that Xbox does not allow first party content to be streamed (ie. TV shows, etc.) As you're using the One Guide to stream with it may be that when you launch the streaming service it's going to show as blocked.

If you would like to stream your PC content then I would recommend looking into either upgrading your PC or see if you can stream using a 3rd party app such as OBS.
