Trouble Playing TES III: Morrowind GOTY

Today, I bought Morrowind GOTY used--it has no scratches except for a few small ones that shouldn't affect gameplay (I've had games play with worse). Though I've looked through several forums and stuff, I can't find any way to get it to play. I am told it
should work and tell me I need to download an update, but it does not. The disk doesn't even read; when I close the tray, it says "Reading..." and then goes straight back to "'Open Tray." I have an Xbox 360 Elite, with the HDD that the console came with in,
and I tried an older HDD I had from my original 360, and it didn't work with that, either.

I've read that I must reconfigure my HDD in order to get it to work, but there is no option to do so in System Settings -> Memory; the only options are "Format," and "Transfer Data" (or something of the sorts).

Does anyone know how to get this game to work, if possible?

Yes, I played TES III: Morrowind GOTY. The game came with two expansions Solsthiem, and Mournhold. However, this doesn't mean we will see the same DLC in Skyrim. I'm sure the DLC will retain to the storyline.

Are you still experiencing trouble playing your The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY discs? If so, what happens when you launch that disc on your Xbox One consoles? Do you see any specific error message(s)?

 

Do you get the same error with other game discs? If so then the console may need to go in for repairs. If not then the issue could lie directly with the game disc.

 

Bumping. I waited a while, and I found that the issue does not lie in the game disc. It plays perfectly--no lag, no issues--on my original Xbox. I'm still having the issue on my 360 Elite (120gb HDD that came with the console). Everything is up-to-date and
even so my console won't detect the disc. I have no issues like this with my Sims 2 original Xbox game. Morrowind is on the list of games that should work on the 360. Please help.

 

Update: Called Microsoft Support, nothing worked. They told me to call Bethesda, so I did. I tried the following:

- Deleting the patch and downloading it again.

- Clearing my system cache.

- Formatting my HDD.

None of this worked. I'm very upset that I deleted EVERYTHING from my HDD for nothing.
