Trouble Logging In To Microsoft Account

I tried to remotely sign in to Minecraft with an alternative Microsoft account that I haven’t used in a long while. I've tried to log into it, which I had successfully entered the password, but then prompts me to verify my account. It asks me to type in a mostly censored E-mail, which I do for two E-mails. The E-mail that I mainly use is almost exactly like the E-mail that is on the account, except the one on the alternative account has a "0" at the end and the one I mainly use has a "05" at the end. I used both to try and receive codes, but no codes arrive to my inboxes. I still have access to both E-mails, including the one on the alternative Microsoft account, but no codes are received. It then prompts me to attempt recovery, in which I fill out the necessary information. It notifies me that it wasn't a sufficient amount of information to attempt recovery. Whenever I try to verify a different way, it prompts me to redo the E-mail verification. I've tried "forgot your password" just in case, but no E-mail was sent. Any help? I've seen others have these questions too, and the articles I've found at support.microsoft.com were not helpful.

There are a number of possible explanations for why verification codes don't always arrive. Read through the list of the most common causes, and see if any of them apply to you.

Does your phone block texts from unknown numbers?
If so, change your phone settings then choose I don't have a code. We'll send another verification code.

Did your email send your verification code to your junk folder?

Check your junk email folder for a message from a Microsoft account, and use the code sent to you. Valid verification codes come from an @accountprotection.microsoft.com email address.

Mark @accountprotection.microsoft.com as a trusted sender to receive your verification code in your inbox.

Is your phone number or email address entered correctly?
To keep your information safe when you're signing in, we only show you the last two digits of your phone number or the first two characters of your email address.

Does your alternate email address end in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com?
If so, you're using one Microsoft account to verify another Microsoft account. This can make it tricky to keep track of which one you're signed in to. When you sign in to the second account (to get the code sent to that email), most browsers automatically sign you out of the first account (the one that's actually requesting the code).

A good thing to try to make sure that you are using the correct Microsoft Accounts and they can receive emails is to search for @accountprotection.microsoft.com in your email history, or any emails from a verified @microsoft address. If you have, sometimes it can get auto deleted or sent to junk or spam -- or it sometimes can take up to 24 hours to send. If so, and you receive it late - try again after you've received a late email.

I also assume that you did not set a security phone number for the account either. If so I would suggest using that.

Im having trouble with funding the correct privacy settings. Do i change them in Microsoft account or the xbox account. Also which account? Can I log into the main PC account and fix this?

Hey Nicholas, sorry you had trouble with your previous account. I understand you are having trouble logging into your new account with the launcher.

First, try to use the instructions on this page for logging out of the launcher:

After that, you should be able to log in with your new Microsoft account. If it still auto-logs in, try clearing the launcher cache or reinstalling it.

It sounds like you may have created a new profile rather than log into your regular account. Be sure you are using the correct email address and password for the account when you log in. If you're still having trouble try the account recovery tool
