Trouble Adding Friends to Fireteam

I am having a hard time getting my friends on a fireteam.

so far, we were both in destiny and went back into HOME and started a party. Went back into Destiny (while in orbit) and opened up the friend list. I invited my friends to a fireteam by clicking their name under the "friend list" and selecting "Invite to
Fireteam". They got nothing.

I was never able to get their name from the friend list, over to the fireteam list (which I assume is a sign it worked).

We both tried powering off. Didn't work. The one thing I have not tried, is launching a party BEFORE going into Destiny.

Any other thoughts on how to fix this?

Also - do I have to leave the party sidebar up the entire game?

Trouble Adding friends

i tried the power cycle & it doesn't work. I deleted my profile also and still didn't work. & I know I'm not blocked bc I can still message them. I've tried adding 10 other strangers and still says the same thing

I have been having trouble adding friends on both the console and online for a week now. Whenever I try to add someone, it says, "sorry, we cant save your changes right now. Try again in a while. I have talked to support on the phone and done every step
including hard resets, factory resets and removing and adding my profile. It looks like this was an issue a few years ago, but I cant find anything current and haven't seen a fix.

 

Hit the home button on your controller

Go to your friends app

Go to "My Profile" on the left hand side

On the right hand side you will see Destiny, click on it

The third option down says "Requires Invites" click on that and it will say "Set to Joinable"

You have successfully set your fireteam setting to public on the Xbox One

Keep in mind you will have to do this every time you log on and I hope this helps the Xbox One users
