"Transparent" tiles - still blocking screen

Can someone explain the point of the setting for tile transparency, when literally 1 tile on my screen is affected? And that's "my games & apps"? Why even have this feature if 99% of the tiles are still solid, while taking up the entire middle of my screen..
effectively blocking my custom background?

Either make all the tiles transparent or give me the option to delete the ones floating in the middle of the screen. I don't need 7 reminders of recently played/used.

and where does one find that? Only thing feedback related I saw was under Settings -> Preferences, and it had a box to check whether I wanted notifications sent when Microsoft wanted feedback.. not that I could freely give it.

You can give your feedback and suggestion using the Hub Support on your Xbox, that go be more efective because then you go say directly with the Xbox Team on Microsoft

Transparent tiles would be fine. Actually, I remember making a comment about tile transparency and how it would make themes easier to see, quite awhile back, regarding the 360 dashboard.

The 360 dashboard showed just a little bit of the tiles for the next 'tab' on the left or right of the screen. Those tiles had transparency... if I had to guess, I'd say about 50%. They looked fine and even though there wasn't much of them showing, it was
easy to see them as well as the fact that they were transparent.
