Transferring xbox account from one microsoft account to a new one

My dad helped me make my Xbox account around 8 years ago when I was 11, so because I was a kid my dad put it under his @hotmail email because I didn't have a email back then. Now that I have gotten older I now have my old email, the only problem is that
you cant change just the email associated with the Xbox account. Because my dad put my Xbox account under his @hotmail my Xbox account is connected to his Microsoft account. Meaning that whenever I need to log into my Xbox account I always have to ask him
for his password, and being almost 20 now that is very annoying to do. I cannot seem to find any work arounds for this issue as the only option is for one of us to completely make a new Microsoft account so the other one gains full control which isn't possible
because either I lose my 8 year old Xbox profile or he loses his email account which he has been using forever. Doing some research I have found that there used to be an option for transferring an Xbox account from one Microsoft account to a new one on the
Xbox 360 but that option no longer works for whatever reason. So I am wondering if there is any other work around for this problem.

Just an FYI the Microsoft account I am asking this question on is my personal one and not my dads that has my Xbox account.

Yes, you can change your Xbox One account to a new Xbox Series X with a different email address. Here are the steps to do so:

Create a new Microsoft account: Go to account.microsoft.com and create a new Microsoft account with a different email address. This will be your new Xbox account.

Transfer content: On your Xbox One, go to Settings > System > Backup and restore. Select "Back up to the cloud" and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your content to the new account.

You cannot transfer an Xbox account from one Microsoft Account to another. So either you will need to create a new Microsoft account and start over or you mom give you hers and she creates a new account if she wants a new one.

If your mom gives you her account you can change the email address to a brand new one.

yea there is a way to do it where all purchases on one account are shared a crossed all accounts on an xbox, so thats a semi solution but im really into achievement hunting so I really dont wanna make a new account and start all over, but it looks like
theres no way around it, I appreciate the reply though.

i think you will have to just make a new one, kinda annoying but i dont think you can transfer them over different emails, i tried to do it a while back and ended up with getting no where so i have an email with my xbox account, and one that pays for everything
and kinda linked the two emails together (at least i think thats what i did it was all overly confusing anyway)

but yeh i reckon you will just have to make your own or see if you can link your email to his somehow and share it, im sure something like that is possible but i may be wrong, look into it before doing anything haha
