Transferring gmail gamertag to Microsoft account

The new microsoft account (hotmail) has no gamertag. I want to transfer the gamertag linked to the gmail account over to the new microsoft account I've created. I've no idea how to do this though.

Hello if you started a new Microsoft account that has a new gamertag with it thats not going to work. If you have a hotmail email address and you want swap it with the gmail account you can do that.

You can change the primary email address on an account and push the old email down to an alternate or completely remove it. While it isnt transferring it sort of is. Do this in stages and make sure everything works as advertised before you remove the old
email. Add the new email as an alias make sure it works, promote it to primary, make sure it works etc.

If you have games under your own account that you want her to have access to you can make the console she has your home console. If you have your own console as well you just sign in there and all your games will be in both places. you will not have offline
play mode with games that dont support it on the console that isnt your home unit.

2. Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.
3. Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter. ...
4. Enter the password for your Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

You don't need to worry about the yahoo is shutting down the email addresses becsue in the system it is just a username, however you can update the Alternate email address in case you need a password reset. answering your other 2 questions the answers are
YES. but a bit complicated if you want to have your gmail. The requirement for swapping MSA (login email) on gamertags:



1. The new MSA (new Microsoft Account) you wish to use cannot have gamertag on it.

2. The new MSA needs to be older than 30 days.

Now that you have a gamertag on your gmail you will be still able to do it but you will need another account that you can swap you gmail's gamertag to free up gmail. After the gmail MSA is free you can swap your gamertag from yahoo to gmail.
