transferring gaming info to another family member on same account

My son has been using my parent account as his account which means all his games and progress are under my name. I want him to have his own account within our family membership. His argument with me is that he will lose all of his purchases, progress and
everything else. I no longer want him to be listed as an adult, I need him to have an account within our family membership but listed as a minor so I'd like to know how to transfer his progress and games into a new account but still part of our family membership.

I hope I am explaining this right. My main goal here is to be able to police him on his account and having him use my adult sign on keeps me from being able to control his stuff. Plus I wish to do my own stuff.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. You can set the console as your Home console in order to share the games with him (https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox)
but if he uses a new account he would need to start over.

Thanks for the info which is positive as I have a Family Xbox LIVE account but I can't find for looking how to transfer points to another family member on the same account???? Where am I going wrong?

You cannot transfer a balance from one account to another. You can gift new funds to a family member but not funds already on an account. I have this same issue and found a forum response explaining it.

No. The only way you can transfer points is if you are the primary member of a family plan and are transferring points to another member of that plan.
