Transferring gaming history to new profile

my son has been using my profile (the master profile) to play his games on xbox. I now want to set up gaming time limits and make him use his own (childs) profile but will he lose his gaming history, specifically fortnite. Can anyone tell me how to move
his profile over?

Also its my profile that we set up the gaming pass for so can families i.e. multiple profiles play for the one monthly fee.

Transfer data question.

Hi, to transfer content licences associated with your console you must sign in to the console with the profile used to purchase the content. Once signed in go to Settings > account > billing options and select licence transfer following the on screen instructions to transfer the licences to the new console so other profiles can use the content. Content can not be transfered across profiles only across consoles - hope this helps

So, transferring your data to the new consoles HDD won't be a problem & you'll need to redownload any DRM content to allow you to use them on your new console anyway..

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer game saves or progress from one account to another. In my home my children play on my home console and can access gamepass as long as they are on that console

 

As The Viral Cyrix mentioned. There's unfortunately no way to transfer game saves between accounts.

Make sure to set your primary account as the console 'My Home Xbox'. That way any other profile that's used on the console, will have access to your accounts
Xbox Live Gold, Games & Apps and Game Pass.

I've an idea - If I added my wife as an adult, can I give her master profile and let my son have my profile (so he keeps his fornite history, friends etc) and I just change his new profile (my old one) into a child and manage his settings that way (and then
I take his old profile and make adult - I don't play anything). Could that be a solution?

Any other solutions? Really appreciate anyone who can help. (objective is to keep his fortnite friends / stuff) but control his playing hours etc through child profile?

Unfortunately that won’t work because you csnnot change the age on an account. If your sons account is set up that way, then it won’t become an adult account until he’s 18.
