Transferring game files from PC to another [ Forza Horizon 5 ]

So recently Microsoft has introduced an update to the Xbox app on PC which allows to view the game data folder and easily copy the game data .

I've tried to copy the game file which I already had on my PC to my laptop ( which uses the same account ) by first initiating the download , closing the app and then pasting the data into the game location folder .

I've then reopened the app and it recognises the game data and shows 100 % progress along with play button afterwards !

The launcher starts up and showing some info like ( Signing in , Syncing data , etc. ) but it always says "Something went wrong launching your game " , going back to Xbox app and trying the "verify and repair" option would simply redownload the game from scratch (104 GB) !!

So , has anyone tried any relative technique before and worked ?

Redownloading the game again is not really an option as internet quota locally is very low along with very slow speeds , I just wanted to have the game w/ me when i'm out :\

You cannot use the files of Forza Motorsport 7 with Forza Horizon 5. These are two different games with different file formats and structures. If you try to copy or transfer the files, you may encounter errors or damage your game data. The only way to play Forza Horizon 5 with your Forza Motorsport 7 progress is to buy the game and start a new save file.

But you can use the files of Forza Horizon 5 from one PC to another PC, but there are some conditions. First, you need to have the same Microsoft account on both PCs and sign in with it. Second, you need to have enough storage space on the second PC to copy or download the files. Third, you need to have a stable internet connection on both PCs to sync your progress and achievements. If you meet these conditions, you can use the files of Forza Horizon 5 from one PC to another PC without any difference in gameplay or performance.

You may try to disable any antivirus programs, firewalls, VPNs, or other software that may interfere with the download.

Perform SFC Scan to fix corrupted or missing files.

Ya you misread what it does

You can move folders but on the SAME pc for the sake of moding NOT COPYING

As it requires registry entries

To copy onto another pc you still need to download it

Each game installation it's unique, and has the data according to the system on which you are installing the game, when you move the data to s different system, it won't be recognized and will try to "repair" it, that will be why it's being downloaded again

Depends on the game, if hte game is cross-play the save files are transferred between PC and Xbox. Game that allow Cros-play for example are: Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 4 and Gears of War 5
