Transferring elite 1 profiles to elite 2

Greetings all!

I received an Elite 2 for Christmas to replace my Elite 1. For some reason, none of the profiles that I created using the elite 1 are "sticking" when I assign them to the 1-3 slots. When assigning the profile, it appears to create a new profile (that has all the modifications of the original profile) and assigns that new profile to the selected slot. However, I am unable to change the name of the new profile without it doing the same thing when I assign the profile.

For example I create a new profile for Bioshock with the elite 1. I make my modifications and save the profile. On the elite 2, I choose slot 1 for Bioshock profile. Instead of Bioshock profile occupying slot 1, another profile is created (profile 1) and occupies slot 1. This profile 1 has all the modifications set for Bioshock. I erase the original Bioshock profile and rename profile 1 to Bioshock. Repeat ad nauseum. If I delete the Bioshock and profile 1 and start from scratch using the elite 2, then everything works.

Recreating the profiles using the elite 2 would be fine if I only had a few profiles, but I don't. Having to recreate all my profiles with the elite 2 is going to be such a hassle!

Any ideas on what I can do?
