    Transfer Xbox gamer tag data to new account


    Hello,

    My son has been using my primary email aligned gamer tag for years and has accumulated status he wants to keep. He is now older and I want to transfer his data and status to a new account / gamer tag. How can I do this without negatively impacting my primary email?

    There is no way to transfer games save data from one account to another because save data is associated with gamer tag

    Yes, it's possible to transfer your old gamer tag onto your console after starting a new account. Here are the steps:

    1. Sign in to your new account on your Xbox console.
    2. Go to 'Settings' and select 'Accounts'.
    3. Select 'Remove Account'
    4. Highlight the new gamertag that you want to replace and press 'A'.
    5. Select 'Delete' and confirm the action.
    6. Press the Xbox button on your controller to go back to the dashboard.
    7. Select 'Sign in' and enter your old gamertag email address and password.
    8. Follow any prompts to complete the sign-in process.

    Your old gamer tag should now be associated with your Xbox account again. Keep in mind that any saved game data, achievements, and friends lists from the new account will not transfer over to the old account.

    you should be able to recover you Gamer tag to you new box it will just be you gamer tag not you saved game data you will need a transfer kit or a flash drive for that bit you could also save your GT to a flash drive and move it that way
