Transfer MSN email to different microsoft account

I am so sorry you are having issues with your email addresses.

There is no way to move or merge the Xbox account itself to a different console. However, there is a way to use a new email address as a replacement.

You can add a new alias.

"Go to Add an alias.

Sign in to your Microsoft account, if prompted. [https://account.live.com/AddAssocId]

Under Add an alias, do one of the following:

Create a new Outlook.com email address and add it as an alias.

Add an existing email address as an alias.

Select Add alias."

You can delete your past alias but please keep in mind, no services will update to your new alias so those services will be lost. It can cause a lot of problems.

Oh, and BTW, was the original Microsoft Account/Windows Live ID email at MSN, Live or Hotmail? If so, then the Microsoft Account/WLID is recoverable even though your access to the account may have been lost.



If the email address was not at MSN, Live or Hotmail, then the Microsoft Account/Windows Live ID still exists and is also recoverable, with a slightly different process, if the above fails.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer an Xbox account to a different Microsoft account. Once that Xbox account is created, it is tied to that Microsoft account for good.

There is one scenario where you may be able to get the outcome you are looking for. Both of these need to be correct :

1. You do not use this Microsoft account for anything else, including signing into windows.

2. Your well established email is not a Microsoft domain (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, MSN)

You can't transfer your Xbox account to another Microsoft/Xbox account. I'm sorry.

If you have an email that is not live.*, outlook.*, hotmail.* or msn.*, you can add this email as a alias email to your Xbox account and then change it to your primary email address.

But hotmail.co.uk (or any hotmail.*) can't be added as a alias email since it already links to another Microsoft Account.

Please be informed that there's no way we can transfer account data and licenses. They will remain on that account. What we could only do is to switch or transfer email address as a primary email address of the account. However, that can only be done if the email address we're talking about is a 3rd party email address since we can replace it and transfer to a different account. If that was a Microsoft email address, there's no way we can transfer that to a different account since Microsoft emails are Microsoft account itself.
