Sorry but this is wrong. Drives and games are not linked to a console ID, they're linked to an account (for digital only purchases) or the disc. It does not matter where the drive came from.

My Series X has two of the older drives from my One X, the games did not need to be downloaded again.

ok, this was helpful. it would be a pain to re download all the games again on the new xbox.

all the games i have on that external harddrive, is digital. so im not sure if it will work. cuz most of the games, are big games.
