Storage on C Hard Drive near limit.

Can I transfer to SSD E drive within Microsoft Store App?

I’m sorry to say, but you may need to reinstall the game on the E drive because FS9 is not a Microsoft store game.

You can copy/paste the folder, but this can cause some errors when you try to run the game.

It happens to every single game that I select my E drive and it still downloads on my C drive. I want to download and install Forza Horizon 5 on my E drive because I have 5TB of storage on it and 1TB on my C drive which is almost full.

Could this be caused because my E drive is exFAT which doesn't allow me to get into the WindowsApps folder? On my C drive I gave myself acces to the WindowsApps folder and all the folders under it. On my E drive it doesn't seem to work. The only thing I could find is that it is caused by exFAT.

My issue seems to be resolved once I move games from drive C to slow external drive (Drive E in my case)

If it helps to identify the bug: my OS is Win11 64 bit and drive C is M.2 Samsung Evo 970 1TB

Thanks. I think I know what the problem with this game was - I have a gaming drive (E

and a Windows installation drive (C

. the Xbox app on pc always tries to default back to C: drive even if you set E: in settings. When the game updated and was installing, I noticed it was installing to the incorrect C: drive. I quickly changed this to E: in settings and hoped it would be ok, seeing as only a small amount of data had started to install.

I think that's where it went wrong.

Anyway, do you know why the drive keeps defaulting back to the Windows installation drive (C

for game installs even when you change the drive in Xbox App settings? It's very annoying having to keep remembering to make sure it's changed to the E: drive whenever I need to install anything.

Because of this defaulting the Xbox app also keeps placing an 'XboxGames' folder in my C: root, which I have to keep on deleting before I change the game save drive to E: in the Xbox app settings, so the games are installed to the correct XboxGames folder in E:.

Do I need to create a partition for my E: or my C: As my E: has 2TB Of free space I definitely have enough there although you did state earlier that I should download on a different drive. Will a partition work on my C: Drive?

EDIT: If I download on another pc on my E: drive will this work?
