    So I got an Xbox One and am attempting to transfer all my game data to it from my Xbox 360. I signed up for the free live Gold I got with the new Xbox to enable the cloud to move my 360 games there so I can then play those games on the One. Both consoles
    recognize me, as in my live account. But the 360 will not recognize the Live Gold trial so I can enable the cloud on it. The xbox One is acknowledging the Live Gold subscription though. No idea what to do. Any thoughts

    DLC, games and savefiles will just be available for download but will not be transferable through the transfercable. Savegames need to be saved to the cloud on the Xbox 360 before they are made available on the Xbox One the other content will just be available
    as a marketplace download or from the ready to install list

    To use cloud storage and save your games, you'll need the following.

    • An Xbox Live Gold or regular subscription.
    • A console connected to the Xbox Live service.

    So yes the Xbox live membership is a must
