Trade-in Program?

Yea, I get that, just wished there would be a way, but that's the sad thing with all of the big gaming companies. It just sucks, I have over 25 games on disc for the one and series x, which I wouldn't be able to play if this is how they are going for the next gen after the series x.

So with the leak of the revamped series x and s having absolutely no game disc reader, which means there will be no reader in the future and game discs will start phasing out for Xbox, I repeat an often asked question. Is Microsoft planning on creating a system where our disc purchases are honored to play when they make this move? Xbox is still selling disc's from publishers, take the MW3 release coming out next month for example. I know that publishers technically have to pay licensing for that game release under Microsoft, but you are paying publishers for the game. This was an incredibly common question with the release of the original Series S. I feel like if there is not this type of plan in the works, it is entirely irresponsible for Microsoft to make this kind of move without PROPERLY warning the community and providing individuals with some type of positive, customer forward/supportive resolution.

I personally doubt they would have a system like that because of how easily it could be abused.

Heres the main reason why. Thered be nothing to stop someone (aside from doing some sort of DRM with 24hr checkins like they tried to when the Xbox one was first released and gave them so much backlash) from renting a game from redbox or buying it used from gamestop or somewhere else, having it honored for digital play, then just turning around and returning the game thus getting said game for free.

Publishers would have to get on board with that sort of thing too and because of the above reasons i doubt theyd want to do that due to how easily it could be abused and how much money they could potentially lose because of it.

Just my two cents. Would it be nice? Definitely, but i doubt itll ever happen.
