If possible can you please also try moving your console and router a couple of inches as this can sometimes make huge differences with how WiFi performs.

I believe that it may affect your other devices if you happen to change the channel that your router is broadcasting. If you follow the error solution that Chris provided above, it should lead you to a possible solution as to why your Xbox cannot receive
an IP address on the 5GHz band.

It may be a good idea to also contact your Internet service provider and have them make sure your Xbox's MAC address is on the router's approved list of devices to receive an IP address. Do that before considering changing the channel of the 5Ghz band.

I can try changing the channel for that 5 GHz but will it affect other devices connected to that?

Would you mind sharing with us what troubleshooting you have tried so we have an idea where to start?

The 5GHz band carries more data and is faster but the signal is generally shorter and can be obstructed easier so make sure you don't have any wireless interference or metal furniture in between your Xbox and router.

I suggest Clearing the MAC address and restarting the Xbox making it more discoverable to the router. Go to your Network Settings and then select Advanced Settings. Then select Alternate MAC Address and select Clear.

This didnt work, any other suggestions? I connect just fine on 2.4 ghz but not on 5. *scratches head.
