Toggle mute not working on game bar???

Try this: Go to Windows settings >> Apps >> Game Bar >> Advanced >> Repair & Reset.

If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you run a scan to check for problems and repair them.

Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run Command Prompt as administrator. Next type sfc /scannow in Command Prompt window, and press Enter to start to scan and repair corrupt system files in Windows 10.

go to your party screen and press 'X' this toggles the mute and unmute on the party.

the 'Y' button toggles you muting your microphone also in the party screen

Pull up the scores during the game, highlight their name, toggle mute.

Would LOVE to see this. Or, if not possible, to sell something the headset plugs into with a quick toggle mute button. Finding the tiny mute button on headset cords isn't ideal either and half the time doesn't work...

May I know if you tried repairing and resetting the game bar to see if that helps?

Go to windows settings > apps > search for game bar app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

By the way, make sure that your windows system and all apps are up to date :
Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

If everything is up to date and repairing and resetting the app didn't work try this:

Reinstall the game bar via powershell command
Right-click on the Start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the pop-up menu.

Copy and paste the following command in PowerShell and hit Enter to uninstall the Game Bar from your system.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

Now head over to Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Game Bar, install it and give it a new try

If maybe that doesn't work please delete the registry keys associated with the game bar:

Press Windows key+R then type regedit and press Enter.
Go to this path (expand the folders using the little ">")

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR

Once there delete all the keys except (Default), restart your PC and try again
