Discus and support TO DO THIS CHANGE A SETTING - I cannot open the avatar store in XBoX Accessibility to solve the problem; When I try to open the avatar store via either the AVATAR STORE button or the GET MORE button, I get the error message: "To do this, change a setting....     TO DO THIS CHANGE A SETTING - I cannot open the avatar store


    When I try to open the avatar store via either the AVATAR STORE button or the GET MORE button, I get the error message:

    "To do this, change a setting. You cannot buy or download because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in Privacy & Online Safety Settings on Xbox.com"

    I cannot for the life of me figure out why as

    1. I can still download and buy games from the store.

    2. My account is not a child account and I have no other accounts on my Xbox to even possibly be a parent account.

    3. My date of birth is correct on my console and I am 21 years old.

    4. All of my content and related online safety settings are set to allow.

    It's not like I'm going to die if I can't buy more avatar items but the general feeling of being locked out of a function on my Xbox One really sucks. Especially if it means it has me on some kind of child lock.

    unable to open avatar store

    I cannot open avatar storeeevery time I click find more, I get a pop up saying change setting which I have done and nothing has changed. Also I'm not using a child account!

    So when are the services going to be activated on X1? As it is right now I can't check my subscription under settings and there is no avatar store. Also half of the things I could do on my 360 I can no longer do. Change gamertag? Change passwords on my
    profile?

    When is all this coming?

    Avatar not showing up at all?

    i downloaded silverlight5 (I have windows 8 or 8.1...not sure which). and I still cannot change my avatar (I have no console just xboxlive on my pc) the only difference since Ive downloaded SL5 is that the edit avatar shows for a split second when opening
    that page but disappears b4 I can click it (I refresh then quickly click it)... then it just sends me to a page that says to open the *games* app and then it opens that when I click the link. but all that's there is a blank gray place where I think the avatar
    should be.

    HELP PLEASE!!!!!! I want an avatar!

    Cannot edit avatar in Windows 8.1

    Do a search for microsoft silverlight and download the plugin for web browser firefox or internet explorer. I used the firefox browser. Then sign in to xbox.com. Click change avatar and it will let you do it. It won't ask to open games app after silverlight
    is loaded. You will see the avatar menu open.

    Account details, Gamer Pic, and avatar has not updated in the past few days

    hum.... have you tried to change your gamer pic, gamertag and or avatar in a xbox one or Xbox app for windows 10? you can change your picture for xbox one and mainly everywhere else. (I am assuming that the gamertag change worked)

    another thing you can do is download the Xbox Avatars app from the Windows Store:

    www.microsoft.com/.../9nblgggz5qdq

    see if that would make it wake up for the changes.
