TIME SENSITIVE- Game pass: claim by 1/31 vs redeem by 3/2

I just got a 2 year subscription of Xbox live Gold for Christmas because my subscription ends next month. I just realized that previously I bought 2 years last time which means I have 13 months of gold left not 1 like I thought. I'm trying to do the Gamepass
ultimate deal and transfer my 36 months of gold into 36 months of gamepass. I just tried to activate my new 2 years of gold but it won't let me- I can apparently only hold 36 months of gold at once but if I activate it I would have 37 months.

MY QUESTION IS: Can I 'claim' the gamepass deal before 1/31, activate my 2 years of gold at the end of February, then 'redeem' the gamepass deal by 3/2 and still get 36 months of gold transferred to 36 months of gamepass ultimate? Or would claiming the deal
before I activate my 2 years of gold only leave me with 1 year of gamepass?

On that note, how would I claim it without redeeming it at the same time? It's probably self explanatory when I go through with it but I don't want to mess up and lose 2 years by doing it wrong.

Current Game Pass Ultimate 3 Months for 1 dollar deal will end on January 25 (in case if you are a new user)

I advise redeeming first your Xbox Live Gold before switching to XGP even if you lose a month of Gold as you reached the limit allowed.

By the time you need to expand your subscription you could use your accumulated Microsoft Rewards points to redeem another month.

If you redeem the Game Pass and then add the 2 months of Gold while you have Ultimate, the Gold will be converted to 8 months of Ultimate. In order to use the full 2 years from your Gold, you would need to add it while you don't have Ultimate.

Hello, this did not work. I followed each step for both the Xbox for PC app and the microsoft store app. Still having the same problem where I follow the process of claiming my free 3 months, it says success, but then it goes straight back to "claim now" and the "redeem now" button is still there and I can't add any game pass games to my library without it redirecting me to getting game pass. Did it 3 more times.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Here is what you need to do to redeem or claim on your console.

To redeem during initial setup:

1. Turn on your Xbox console and follow the guided on-screen setup instructions.

2. In the Account steps, sign in with the Microsoft account you want to use for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

3. On the screen titled This Xbox comes with, choose
Xbox All Access and select Claim it. Alternatively, you can choose
Decide later and redeem the membership from
Settings using your current Microsoft account or another Microsoft account.

To redeem in Settings app:

1. Make sure you’re signed in with the Microsoft account you want to use for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

2. Press the Xbox guide button to open the guide.

3. Select Settings > All settings > Account.

4. In Account, select Included with this Xbox.

5. Select Xbox All Access, then select
Claim it.

What can I do my Xbox series X just arrived today but when I go redeemed the game pass ultimate it said claimed by 3/15 which is two days ago and it won’t let me claim the game pass so what can I do now?
