This purchase channel requires a billing account ?

I'm attempting to download Dead Space because it's available for both free with gold and backwards compatible, however on the xbox one I get to the confirm purchase screen to get hit with a " This purchase channel requires a billing account." and it's asking
me to add a valid payment option. Pretty sure this shouldn't be the case as it's FREE WITH GOLD... am I the only one having trouble here with this?

I am trying to download a game and it keeps telling me at the confirm purchase page that, "This purchase channel requires a billing account. Please add a valid payment instrument. You will not be charged for a free item." I have a valid credit card on file.
I've reset my machine multiple times and verified all information. Why can I not download this game???

 

It isn't an error it is correct

You need to have a valid payment option on filw even with a free game

And yes it remains free it's a verification check also how the 369 marketplace works

The only way not to use a payment option is to buy it via a 360 console

 

I don't own a 360 anymore ...and if a payment option is NECESSARY then I have money on my account. How come it's not detecting that?

 

A valid payment option is required for Games with Gold meaning a credit card/Paypal needs to be registered on your LIVE account. It will not withdraw money from the payment method since the games are $0.00.

excuse me while I try to worm this through my head because this just sounds like complete lunacy...this has NEVER been a requirement before and it shouldn't be NOW!

 

It has been a requirement for awhile on the website and on Xbox One.

 

I...I don't...I can't believe it...so ..the "free" B.C. title for the month...ISN'T exactly free...I have to surrender a card number just to be able to download and play it?? ...NO...NO NO NO....that does NOT sit well with me!

 

Games with Gold are free, you can simply add a card to your LIVE account and remove it after you've downloaded the game(s).

there's a lot that isn't the same between these systems...only recently found out I can't both be in a party AND have a media player active at the same time like I could on 360. Still don't know how or why I can't play my copy of LFD2 on my One either because
I have the physical copy and I see people playing it quite a bit, and now this... I think i'm almost done...games just aren't as fun anymore when I have to go through so many work arounds JUST to try and enjoy the experience i'm going for.

 

I can't download dead space to my xbox one either. Not on the console or on the website and I have a card registered to my account. It just says can't download at this time

 

To me i can do anything and it doesnt say anything or why, i downloaded the game on my 360 and thought that i could then download it for xbox one but there is no download button anywhere to press and it doesnt show up in my "downloadable games tab" in my
games and apps. What amni doing wrong?
