This is Frustrating. I'm trying to setup a Game Pass for my son - so I can play games with...

Hello Jim, so that you can buy a subscription for your child's account, you have to allow their purchase first and then log in to the Xbox website through their account and add a card and buy the subscription.

The other way would be to purchase a Game Pass subscription card and redeem on his account, however you will need a credit card or Paypal account added to the account in order to redeem the subscription.

I'm hoping that this is possible but really not sure. I have some questions around Play Anywhere and Game Share for my son and I.

Our setup

I have an Xbox One with an active Xbox Live membership.

My 11yr old has an Xbox One and also has an Xbox Live account but he doesn't have a separate subscription, it's under my account.

His Xbox One is setup as the "HOME" xbox so that he has access to games that I have bought so that I don't have to pay for them twice.

As of yesterday, he also now has a Windows 10 gaming PC that I built for him.

My question

If one of the games is Play Anywhere compatible that he already plays on his Xbox via the HOME xbox setup, can he also play it on his PC? If so, how is that setup?

To the best of my knowledge, if he can access the game on the console and the game is a "Play Anywhere" game, then he should have access to it on his PC. He will have to download it from the Microsoft store. Also if the game is available on Game Pass and
it is also available on both PC and Console and you have the Game Pass Subscription, then He can play it on both systems.

its fine for me to get her game pass, but the thing is I can share my pass on my son. we play grounded and monster hunter rise. I'm just wondering why it is not working this time. Or is it for specific game?

I should have just given my son the Game Pass Ultimate code after I purchased it. I will have to do this the next time, I'm subscribed up until May 2022 so will have to wait until then unless there is a way of transferring what's left over to my son?... I wouldn't have thought so though as everything is so complicated and confusing with this family sharing setup!

I have two consoles, one for my daughter and son to share and one for me with my sons profile on it as well. When he tries to sign on to my console it asks him to buy game pass or live gold if I'm not signed in. The console that my daughter has
is set as the home box.

keep them set that way round so that they can play on their Xbox while you are on yours. if they want to play games using both Xboxes you can sign in on yours and then switch to your son's account for him to play.
