    This gamertag isn’t allowed. Try a different one.


    Can’t change my gamer tag to a new tag with “Sm3xy” in it even though it’s already in my current gamer tag. Ive tried to pair it with everything but it just doesn’t seem to like the word “Sm3xy”. Is there any way to get around this?

    This gamertag isn’t allowed. Try a different one.

    The word alone might be triggering the filters since it's close to something that is probably against the ToC. With it combined like it is now, it might not be triggering the filter.

    Step 1: Scroll down and select Support at the bottom left under Xbox.
    Step 2: At the bottom of the page, click Contact Us.
    Step 3: Select Account & Billing, then "View Other Options"
    Step 4: Select your problem
    Select - "Show contact options"
    Select - Request Support Call

    Its quite possible as well that the gamer tag you are trying to use is already taken by another person.

    But the gamertag that I want to change is my old gamertag. I change my old gamertag on 2 August 2020. I used that old gamertag when I create my Xbox account. At that time, the system allow me to use that gamertag. But when I want to change it back, the system don't allow me to use it. Why is this like that?
