"This card has already been redeemed" error message

Hello, recently my Xbox gold ran out, I had a prepaid card for 12 months so I scratched it off and entered it in Xbox. The first time I entered it was in the actual store. It gave me a message like "an error has occurred please try again later." So then
I tried going to my subscriptions and redeeming it from there, to which I got the message "This card has already been redeemed" which it clearly hasn't. I checked the history of purchases and transactions and it never appeared. The weird thing about all of
this is that my gold said it expired today yesterday, for example:

I would appreciate if anyone could help out and tell me how I can actually redeem this card,

If Support through Microsoft is unable to help you may have to get in contact with the store you purchased the card from. I've had it happen myself with a prepaid bought from Walmart and had to bring it back in. It could have been rung up wrong at the
register or they may not have confirmed it being bought and sometimes you'll receive that message. Since the cards don't technically "register" until they're purchased it could have just been an issue on the stores end when you made the payment for it.

What error message/code do you receive when you try redeeming the code?

It says the code has already been redeemed.

Hey there rddNz! You can double check if a card was redeemed successfully by logging into
https://commerce.microsoft.com on the account in questions and checking there. If it is showing as "already redeemed" then there isn't an error, it has actually been redeemed. Let us know what you
